Hatoyama Hall in Tokyo's Otowa district, once the residence of Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, has been attracting five times more visitors than usual this year, thanks to the launch of his government and the building's rare British architectural style.

The former residence of the Hatoyama family, more commonly known as Otowa Goten (Otowa Palace) due to its sumptuousness, has become one of the most popular sightseeing spots in Tokyo, according to Hatoyama Hall officials.

The building, which has three floors and a basement, was built by Hatoyama's late grandfather, Ichiro, in 1924 as his private residence.
