Cities in the Tohoku region, including Yamagata, Niigata and Morioka, Iwate Prefecture, had their first snow of the season Tuesday as a cold air mass moved over Japan, the Meteorological Agency said.
Many cities across the country recorded their lowest temperatures this season, with Asahikawa, Hokkaido, checking in at minus 6.1 and Sendai at 3.4.
