ROME (Kyodo) A group of around 50 people inspired by Japanese “manga” (comic books), “anime” (animation) and games amazed Roman residents and tourists Friday by dressing up in costumes for a visit to Spanish Square.

The “cosplayers” (costume role players) were taking part in the pop culture event Romics. It was the first cosplay rally in the square since Romics began in 2001.
