Insurer Alico Japan has sent a ¥10,000 gift coupon and a letter of apology to every customer whose credit card information has been subject to abuse, company officials said Tuesday.

The Japanese branch of American Life Insurance Co. has identified 18,184 cases in which personal data such as insurance policy numbers, credit card numbers and other information have been acquired by outsiders.
