OSAKA (Kyodo) Taxation authorities have determined that Kobe Steel Ltd. failed to declare ¥2.91 billion in income over seven years through March 2008 after investigating the major steelmaker and 53 companies in its group, Kobe Steel recently said.
Kobe Steel, also known as Kobelco, said in a statement released Friday that it has already paid ¥1.13 billion in back taxes and penalties to the government.
