YOKOHAMA (Kyodo) Fingerprints taken from one of several severed hands found in Tokyo Bay off Yokohama earlier in the week match those of a gang member, investigative sources said Friday.

A 39-year-old man who was fishing in the area found a head and part of a leg floating Thursday afternoon, a day after a man’s bottom and left thigh were found nearby.

Police later found a wrist, a right thigh and three parts of an ankle, indicating they are dealing with at least two fatalities.

One of the body parts found Thursday had a tattoo on it, police said.

According to the police, the victims must have been dead for several weeks. No clothes or belongings were found, but a further search of the bay Friday uncovered the head and right ankle of a male, severed by a sharp knife.

Police will conduct an autopsy Saturday.
