NAGOYA (Kyodo) Police arrested a tractor-trailer driver Wednesday after his vehicle overturned on a road in Nagoya and crushed a car traveling alongside it, killing two female occupants and injuring another, police officials said.
The two women were pronounced dead at a hospital several hours after the 11:45 a.m. crash, while the third escaped with slight injuries, the officials said.
Nobuo Tagawa, the 60-year-old trucker from Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, was held on charges of negligence causing death and injuries while driving. He was not injured in the accident.
