Japan and the United States agreed Thursday to boost cooperation to address the global influenza crisis and to denuclearize North Korea, the Foreign Ministry said.

Foreign Minister Hirofumi Nakasone and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton agreed in telephone talks to pursue closer bilateral efforts to fight the flu crisis, according to the ministry’s press release.
