Pioneer Corp. is considering pulling the plug on its loss-making flat-screen TV business as slowing demand amid the global recession leave little room for one of its mainstay operations to recover, sources familiar with the matter said Saturday.

The company is expected to announce its withdrawal from flat-screen TVs when it reveals its medium-term business plan on Thursday. The company is expected to refocus its efforts on in-car audiovisual products to survive, the sources said.
