Standard & Poor’s ratings service said Tuesday it has kept Japan’s sovereign credit ratings unchanged because of the country’s “robust net external asset position.”

The ratings on its long-term local and foreign currency ratings will stay at AA and the short-term ratings at A-1+, the rating agency said.
