Electricity generation jumped 9.5 percent nationwide in July after warmer-than-normal temperatures prompted consumers to increase their use of air-conditioners.
The country’s 10 regional utilities generated 94.12 billion kwh last month, the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan said Friday. The output was the second-highest since a record 96.2 billion kwh was generated last August, it said.
