Japan’s major automakers said Tuesday that domestic sales fell and exports rose in the first half, except for Honda Motor Co., which reported higher domestic sales and weaker exports.
Toyota Motor Corp. and units Daihatsu Motor Co. and Hino Motors Ltd. said their domestic sales in the January-June period dropped 1.7 percent from a year earlier to 1.178 million vehicles, but exports rose 3.6 percent to 1.47 million.
