Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. said Thursday it has won a contract for a 200-megawatt gas turbine combined-cycle power generation system from Australia’s Alinta Energy.
The eco-friendly system, to be powered by liquefied natural gas, will go online in 2009 in Tasmania.
The deal, Mitsubishi Heavy’s third contract of this type with Alinta and the sixth of similar orders from Australian clients, could be worth 10 billion yen to 13 billion yen, industry sources said.
Some of the major components of the system are gas turbines, steam turbines, generators and heat recovery steam generators.
