Major online brokerage kabu.com Securities Co. said Tuesday it will extend trading hours on its nighttime marketplace starting Wednesday, while also increasing the number of stocks that can be traded.
Trading hours will be extended by about one hour until 11:59 p.m. from the current trading hours of 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., while the number of stocks that can be traded will be increased to 1,000 from the current 300, kabu.com said.
The move is aimed at enticing investors to kabu.com’s nighttime marketplace, launched Sept. 15, and activating trading as trading value on the market has been sluggish, according to the online brokerage.
In addition to the 300 issues already available for trading, the brokerage has newly selected around 500 issues from the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and some 200 issues from the second section and Mothers market, as well as the Jasdaq for startups.
