OSAKA (Kyodo) Sanyo Electric Co. plans to spin off its domestic sales operations by next spring in a bid to accelerate restructuring efforts, company sources said Saturday.
Its sales department now handles strategic planning, transactions with retailers and business with the public sector. The planning functions will remain with the parent. The rest will be integrated with three existing subsidiaries to form a new sales unit.
