The Belgian government is thinking of selling its embassy building in Tokyo and will make a decision by the end of the year, a Belgian Foreign Ministry spokesmen has said.

Rumors that the embassy, close to Kojimachi Station in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, would be put on the block had been reported in the media.

"Offers of different companies are being studied at this moment," spokesman Rudi Huygelen told Kyodo News in a telephone interview Tuesday. "A decision, which officially has to be confirmed by the ministers' council, will be taken before the end of the year."
