Tokyo Electric Power Co. will seek 50 million yen in compensation from the firms responsible for the Aug. 14 major blackout in the Tokyo area that lasted about three hours.
Tepco said Thursday it may file a claim against Mikuniya Co., a construction firm in Kamisu, Ibaraki Prefecture, whose crane hit power lines, and Obayashi Corp., which contracted with Mikuniya.
