Two people apparently died in a house fire in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, early Tuesday, police said.
They victims are believed to be Mina Mine, 80, and her son, Masataka, 54, police said, adding they were trying to make a positive identification and were investigating the cause of the fire.
Both lived in the house, police said.
