TAKAMATSU, Kagawa Pref. (Kyodo) A Kagawa University professor was sentenced to two years in prison Thursday at the Takamatsu District Court for molesting a woman who visited him for psychological counseling.

Kenji Iwatsuki, 51, touched the victim's body at his home in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture, in April 2002, telling her it was necessary to treat her neurosis, the court said.

While the defendant pleaded innocent, arguing the woman had accepted the act, presiding Judge Koji Masuda said, "(The defendant) made it impossible for the woman, with sweet words, to resist him, and his criminal responsibility is serious."
