NAHA, Okinawa Pref. (Kyodo) Nago, Okinawa Prefecture, called Saturday for the central government to come up with drastic revisions to its plan to move the U.S. Marine Corps’ Futenma Air Station to that city.

The demand, in which the city called for moving the proposed site offshore, came during a meeting between Nago Vice Mayor Bunshin Suematsu and Kazuhiro Toda, deputy chief of the Defense Facilities Administration Agency.
