SHIZUOKA (Kyodo) Yamaha Motor Co. is suspected of exporting a remote-controlled helicopter that could be converted for military use to a Chinese firm linked to the People's Liberation Army in 2003, investigative sources said Saturday.
It was one of 11 helicopters Yamaha has allegedly shipped to Chinese companies since July 2001, the sources said.
Yamaha previously claimed it had exported only nine such choppers to China since 2001. The company said they all went to a Beijing-based aerial service company.
