OSAKA -- An English ticket price board at JR Tsuruhashi Station on the Kanjo Loop Line in Osaka has featured an erroneously inflated price for the journey between Tsuruhashi and Matsuiyamate stations for more than four years, according to West Japan Railway Co.

Although the price should actually be 570 yen for adults, the board showed a price of 650 yen until Tuesday evening; this has been the advertised price since the board was put up in March 2001, the carrier admitted Wednesday.

JR Matsuiyamate Station is located in Kyotanabe, Kyoto Prefecture.

JR West said it will refund the difference. Those who have paid excessive ticket fees should make claims at Tsuruhashi Station or at JR West regional offices, the carrier said.
