SAMAWAH, Iraq – The governor of the southern Iraqi province where Japanese ground troops are deployed expressed disappointment Wednesday with their reconstruction efforts and called on Japan to promote big projects in the area.
“I am disappointed with the outcome of Japan’s reconstruction assistance. The projects that have been implemented so far are below our expectations,” al-Muthanna Gov. Mohammad Ali-Hassan said in an interview on a local television network.
