A memorial service for Dr. Jack Thomson Moyer will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Tokyo Union Church.
The marine biologist, educator, Japan Times nature writer and longtime Miyake Island resident died Jan. 9.
His wife, Lorna Moyer, and their son, Jackie, will be the chief mourners. A tea and coffee reception will be held in the church's Fellowship Hall after the service.
Tokyo Union Church, located at 5-7-7 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, is an ecumenical international church for English-speaking Christians.
Condolence offerings will be gratefully received to assist dependents and help support ongoing activities stemming from Moyer's vision.
