Public prosecutors have accepted a plea by a woman who lost her husband and parents in the China Airlines jetliner crash at Nagoya airport in 1994 to see photos of their bodies, reversing their decision last month.

On Monday, the Nagoya District Public Prosecutor's Office allowed Sachiko Nagai, 40, to see 13 pictures of her husband, Norio Matsueda, and her parents, Isamu and Fumiko Nagai, and their personal belongings.

Prosecutors said they decided to allow Nagai to see the photos because she wanted to view them before deciding whether to appeal a court ruling last month on damages.

Nagai had said she wanted to see the photos to bring closure to the loss of the three, who died when the plane crashed while aborting an approach to Nagoya airport. She was seven months' pregnant at the time.
