Okinawa police arrested an unemployed man Wednesday in Osaka on suspicion of posting a bomb threat against a U.S. military base on an anonymous Internet bulletin board.

Yasuo Chinen, 26, is suspected of posting the message on the “2-channeru” (Channel 2) bulletin board June 22, police said.

The message read, “We will bomb a U.S. military base tomorrow,” according to police.

The suspect has admitted to making the threat, they said.

Okinawa police relayed the message to U.S. military authorities in Japan.

The U.S. Kadena Air Base in Okinawa Prefecture, which was supposed to be the target of the message, then filed a report with local police about the threat.
