Ito-Yokado Co. group's IY Bank has started linking its automated teller machines to ATMs run by Bank of Nagoya and Juroku Bank of Gifu Prefecture.
The links enable account holders of the two regional banks to use their ATM cards at IY Bank ATMs, located in Ito-Yokado supermarket outlets and convenience stores run by Seven-Eleven Japan Co.
The move is the first collaboration between IY Bank, which has no branches, and regional banks in the Tokai region.
It also increases the number of ATMs offering IY Bank services to 6,122, covering 14 prefectures.
