The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan said Friday it has launched an Internet job site to line up companies with professional staff and help job-seekers find Japan-based positions.

The Employment Central site allows foreign and Japanese companies to post job offers and job-seekers to post resumes and make applications, the chamber said.

The ACCJ said that for many years, it has matched up job-seekers and employers through a resume-posting service that started out in print before moving online.

"Employment Central takes this service to a much more sophisticated level with the addition of a channel that allows employers to locate and select the best candidates quickly and easily," it said.

Established in 1948, the ACCJ represents more than 1,400 U.S. firms in Japan and has offices in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.
