YOKOHAMA – Former Yokohama Mayor Hidenobu Takahide died Thursday morning of an esophageal hemorrhage at a Yokohama hospital, his family said. He was 73.
A native of Yubari, Hokkaido, Takahide joined the former Construction Ministry, the predecessor of the Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Ministry, after graduating from Hokkaido University’s engineering department. He eventually became a top bureaucrat in the ministry.
