A growing number of people are entering the Japanese green tea cafe business as the brew claims ground against its coffee cousin, according to the World Green Tea Association.

More than 160 people -- about 2 1/2 times the initially expected number -- attended a Tokyo seminar on cafes specializing in green tea Wednesday.

"Many people in Japan are still not fully aware of how fascinating green tea can be," said Yoshimitsu Ochiai of the association that sponsored the business seminar, "even though it is a feature of our daily lives."
