The Ehime Prefectural Education Board is likely to adopt a controversial history textbook penned by a group of nationalists for use in three junior high schools opening next spring, education board sources said Thursday.

If adopted, it will be the third time such a decision has been made over the textbook for use in public schools. In 2001, the Tokyo and Ehime education boards both decided to use the textbook in some public schools.
