Foreign ownership of Nippon Television Network Corp. stood at 18.27 percent as of March 31, up slightly from 18.26 percent as of Sept. 30, NTV said Wednesday.

Under Japanese statues, broadcasters lose their licenses if foreign ownership stands at 20 percent or more. They are required to reveal foreign ownership levels every six months if they are more than 15 percent.

Foreign ownership of NTV has stood at more than 15 percent since the end of September 1993.
