A 22-year-old U.S. Marine was arrested early Thursday in Yamaguchi Prefecture on suspicion of assaulting two women, police said.
According to police, Cpl. Ray Neal is suspected of punching the two women, one aged 25 and the other 29, in the face on a street in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, at around 12:30 a.m.
Neal attacked the women after they ignored him when he tried to speak to them as he made his way back to the U.S. Marine Corps Iwakuni Air Station after drinking with friends from the base, according to police, who added that he was arrested at the scene.
