FUKUOKA – A construction company president on trial for tax evasion and bribery donated several million yen to former secretaries to former Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto around 1996 from an off-the-book account, investigative sources with prosecutors and tax authorities said Saturday.
The Fukuoka District Public Prosecutors Office has questioned a former secretary who also served as the head of Hashimoto’s support group in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, about the donation, they said.
