OSAKA -- Two police officers have been reprimanded after they were found at a suspected sex club for couples in Osaka during a police raid, police sources said Tuesday.

The male and female officers are not suspected of committing crimes as they did not perform obscene acts and were found clothed, according to the sources.

The male police officer is from the Osaka Prefectural Police's community safety department and the female officer is from a different department within the prefectural police, the police said.

Investigators said 15 other club patrons, including housewives, female college students and company employees, were arrested on suspicion of performing obscene acts, including stripping, on Nov. 19 at Culture Club.

The two police officers were off duty when they were found in the club, police said.

Police added they have also arrested two managers of the club and its owner on charges of indecent exposure.

The club opened in April 2000 with 5,000 members. Individuals are charged an initial 3,000 yen membership fee, are required to pay an additional 6,000 yen per visit and must arrive in pairs.
