NEW YORK – Toyota Motor Corp. and Universal Studios said Tuesday they have concluded a global partnership deal to market each other’s products.
The agreement, signed by U.S.-based Toyota Motor Sales and Universal Studios, makes Toyota the official car of Universal Studios. It allows the automaker to establish a presence and create business opportunities with all Universal businesses, including theme parks, motion pictures, television, consumer products, the Internet, interactive games and music.
In return, Toyota would become the principal sponsor of major attractions in Universal’s theme parks and promote its movies and music through its dealership networks.
The automaker has already entered a multiyear agreement with the Universal affiliate in Japan, where Toyota is the exclusive automobile of Universal Studios Japan.
