A 45-year-old Nepalese man was arrested Saturday over the death last month of a Tokyo man in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture.

The victim was allegedly killed before a car crash was staged in an attempt to make it look like an accident, police said.

Suku Gurung, of Yokohama's Tsurumi Ward, is suspected of strangling Yoshimitsu Saeki, 53, on April 12, because he believed that Saeki was dating a Chinese woman he liked, police said.

Police said Gurung, who works at a factory in Tokyo, has admitted killing Saeki, an auto parts engineer from Tokyo's Ota Ward.

The car in which the body of Saeki was discovered collided with a tree on a street in Kawasaki around 7:40 p.m. on April 12. He had been killed between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., according to police.
