NARITA, Chiba Pref. – A 41-year-old Dutch man has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to smuggle about 9.3 kg of cannabis resin into Japan in the form of two handicraft objects, Narita airport police and customs officials said Friday.
According to investigators, Robin Jenkins arrived at Narita from Johannesburg via Singapore on Nov. 27 carrying the items — two plaques, one of a carved elephant and the other of another animal — inside a decorative paper bag.
