Authorities arrested a 43-year-old woman from Tokai, Aichi Prefecture, on Monday after her dog bit and seriously injured a neighbor. That dog and two others in her possession were impounded as evidence.

According to investigators, Miyoko Hori’s mixed-breed Kiko, bit the right thigh of a 24-year-old office worker after Hori let him and two other dogs out of her car at around 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 2. The neighbor sustained severe injuries expected to take 11/2 months to heal.
