OSAKA -- Yoshimoto Kogyo Co., a major, Osaka-based entertainment firm, has found yet another business area to cash in on -- entertainment catering. The move, according to Yoshimoto officials, is part of its business diversification plan as it goes into the 21st century.
The firm already plans, produces and sells entertainment for a range of events, from hotel dinner shows to wedding parties. In recent years, the company has been diversifying its operations, advancing into sports-related areas, production of music programs and online program distribution to broaden its source of revenue.
Earlier this year, Yoshimoto tied up with medical clerical services firm Nichii Gakkan Co. to launch "entertainment welfare services" for the elderly, distributing video cassettes of comedy programs and dispatching comedians to entertain residents at welfare facilities.
