Most people are a bit weary of hair salons; it’s difficult to get what you want. Granted this may have something to do with the desired image you want. Yourself with say, Julia Robert’s hair. It just can’t be done. In a parallel universe maybe, but not this one.

For non-Japanese in Tokyo, this situation can have the added frustration of the language barrier and in some places, the overall ambience. Many salons are so devoid of atmosphere they are liable to put you off going until your hair starts scaring small children.
