Another extraordinary Diet session is expected to be convened as early as the end of next month to deal with a supplementary budget to revive the nation's economy, senior officials of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party said Tuesday.While some LDP officials had been reluctant to hold another extraordinary Diet session this year, LDP executives have decided to hold the special session to pass a third supplementary budget bill for implementing public works projects worth more than 10 trillion yen.LDP's policy affairs chief Yukihiko Ikeda told reporters Tuesday that they would like the supplementary budget to clear the Diet by the end of this year.In his speech in Tokyo, the LDP's Executive Council Chairman Takashi Fukaya also stressed the need to convene the special Diet session as soon as possible once the government decides on specific pump-priming measures, including tax cuts.
