Fujitsu Ltd. has developed and will soon release three software packages that promise to open up English-language pages on the Internet for Japanese users.The packages, Nihongo de Search V1.0 (Search in Japanese), Honyaku Surfing V4.0 (Surfing in Japanese) and Honyaku Surfing Plus V4.0 will be marketed by Fujitsu Middleware Co. beginning Feb. 6, the company said.Honyaku Surfing Plus bundles the search and surfing software packages. An increasing number of personal computer users are enjoying virtual overseas tours or on-line shopping at stores aboard. But because the Internet is so English-intensive, many Japanese PC users uncomfortable with English feel hindered on the World Wide Web.According to Fujitsu, these software packages will eliminate the language barriers. Nihongo de Search, which allows users to search the Web by Japanese keywords, is priced at 6,000 yen. Honyaku Surfing, which translates English-language Web pages into Japanese, will cost 8,800 yen. The combination package will list for 12,800 yen.
