Garuda photo contest

Garuda Indonesia's Japan branch is holding its annual photo contest on the theme of Indonesia.

This is the 10th contest. Submissions should be photos taken between last September and this month showing any symbolic features of Indonesia, such as nature, landscapes, archaeological sites, festivals and dance.

Entrants should be members of the airline's online site. Registration for membership is available through www.garuda-indonesia.co.jp.

Each applicant can submit up to five works with the application form, which can be downloaded through the campaign site. Entries must by received by Oct. 10.

Resort photographer Minoru "Mike" Masujima will select the winners. The top prize features a round-trip ticket from Japan to Bali with a voucher for three nights' accommodations.

SAS sale until Aug. 28

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is offering a special sale in which travelers from Tokyo will be able to travel to more than 40 European cities with prices starting at ¥91,460, which includes all taxes and surcharges, through Aug. 28.

Travel must originate between this Oct. 29 and March 31. A large number of festivals and events await travelers to Europe in the fall, winter and spring.

Example fares include Milan at ¥99,340, Goteborg, Sweden, at ¥98,910, Paris at ¥100,430 and Amsterdam at ¥100,170.

Singapore F1 package

Singapore Airlines is offering a special tour package to attend the Singapore Grand Prix Formula One race.

The Singapore Grand Prix will be held from Sept. 21 to 23 in the Marina Bay area. People can enjoy the world-class race with stunning night views of Singapore.

The four-day (or five-day) package tour offers a round-trip ticket between Japan and Singapore Changi International Airport with three-day tickets for the race as well as hotel accommodations.

Travelers can choose to depart from Tokyo Haneda, Osaka, Nagoya or Fukuoka.
