Star chef supervises wedding banquets

The Hilton Nagoya has announced that Michelin-starred chef Stephane Gaborieau, who also has the title of MOF (Meilleurs Ouvriers de France, the French government’s highest distinction for artisans), is supervising wedding banquet dishes at the hotel.

Gaborieau is the owner-chef of one-Michelin-starred restaurant Le Pergolese in Paris. Under his supervision, the stylish presentation of French dishes will add a special element to make weddings memorable.

Also, on April 15 the hotel will hold a special bridal fair to introduce the Hilton Wedding concept. Guests can participate in a simulation wedding ceremony at the Sky Chapel One O Five, taste the banquet dishes or be photographed in the latest wedding dress designs, among other activities. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free. Reservations are required.

Tokyo Ritz-Carlton’s fifth anniversary

In celebration of its fifth anniversary, marked on March 30, The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo is holding a restaurant fair offering special menus at two of its restaurants, Towers Grill and Azure 45, through April 30.

The hotel has invited top chefs from around the world to create the special menus. Towers Grill invites the award-winning chef Dean Fearing (pictured) from Fearing’s Restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. His restaurant has been ranked as one of best in the world by magazines such as Bon Appetit in the U.S. He was also the winner of the James Beard Foundation Restaurant Award for Best Chef in the Southwest.

Azure 45 invites Christophe Gibert from the one-Michelin-starred restaurant La Baie at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka. Gibert has studied with many famed chefs in France, including Alain Llorca at the Hotel Le Negresco in Nice, and provides a new, elegant approach to traditional French cuisine.

Both chefs will be at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo through April 6.
