The Italian restaurant Riva degli Etruschi in the Omotesando area of Tokyo is launching a monthly live jazz event from this month.

The event will take place on every third Thursday night from 8:30 to 9:30.

The restaurant opened in 1996 and serves Tuscan home-style dishes made by native Tuscan chefs Vittorio Cocchi and Pietro Androsoni, who have been colleagues for more than 20 years.

Among the Italian furnishings in the restaurant is a custom-made piano by 30-year-old maker Fazioli Co., based in Sacile, Italy, northeast of Venice. Japanese jazz pianist Junichi Yanagi will perform on the Fazioli piano on Nov. 17.

Diners can enjoy free performances while dining from the restaurant’s course menu (starting from ¥8,500) or a la carte menu.

Riva degli Etruschi is a 5-minute walk from Omotesando Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza, Chiyoda and Hanzomon lines. For more information or to make a reservation, call (03) 3470-7473 or visit www.bellavita.co.jp/etruschi.
