Pretty in pink at The Peninsula Tokyo

As part of The Peninsula Tokyo’s ongoing Enriching Your Life and Community campaign, the hotel is showing its support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month throughout October with Peninsula in Pink — a new Peninsula Hotels groupwide campaign to raise awareness and funds through signature pink-themed promotions.

This month, the hotel will donate ¥400 from the price of every Peninsula in Pink purchase at its restaurants and spa to local breast cancer charities. The restaurants are offering special menus: for example, The Lobby offers a Peninsula in Pink Classic Afternoon Tea, which comes with a Peninsula teddy bear wearing a pink ribbon pin, at ¥5,000 including tax (a 10 percent service charge will be added).

Also, a portion of the sales of each Enriching Your Life and Community promotion for the hotel’s restaurants (¥10), spa (¥50) and banquets (¥100) will be donated to the Breast Cancer Network Japan Akebonokai and Japan Association of Breast Cancer Screening.

Weekend lunch with Dom Perignon

The Strings by InterContinental Tokyo is offering a premium lunch plan with all-you-can-drink Champagne — Dom Perignon, 2002 vintage — at The Dining Room on weekends and holidays until Dec. 25.

Dom Perignon has been a world-renowned name in Champagne for many years. During the fair, the restaurant is offering the all-you-can-drink Champagne service for 1½ hours. The plan includes a lunch course where guests can choose each of four courses from several selections. The menu options will change since the restaurant uses in-season ingredients, but may include dishes such as sauteed Japanese beef filet served with seasonal vegetables and green peppercorn sauce, Iberian pork poele with pumpkin chutney, and daily fresh fish poele served with French mussels flavored in saffron and basil.

The premium lunch plan is available from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for ¥15,000, including tax and a service charge.

New concept hotel in central Kyoto

On Oct. 8, the Royal Park Hotels’ new concept property, Royal Park Hotel “The” Kyoto, will open in the center of the ancient city.

The hotel is the second in the “The” series after the Royal Park Hotel “The” Fukuoka, which opened on July 30. The concept series intends to integrate the guest’s journey into the local area. The hotel’s concierges are valuable resources for information about the city and can recommend seasonal events and sightseeing opportunities. Also, at the hotel’s restaurants, guests can enjoy meals using local products. Another feature of the hotel is a ladies-only floor.

To celebrate its opening, the Kyoto hotel is offering some special plans at discount prices. For example, a women’s stay plan features amenities such as a moisturizing beauty humidifier, a negative-ion hair dryer, a jewelry tray, a bath pillow and facial cotton. The plan is available from ¥10,500 per person, including tax and a service charge.
