The Royal Park Hotel in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, is offering accommodation with a guided tour of Tsukiji’s fish market.
After staying in a standard or executive floor room, guests can choose one of three tours. The “Early Morning Seri Viewing Course,” between 4:45 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., will get you to Tsukiji in time to watch the lively seri (auction) in the jonai (inner) wholesale market and breakfast at a restaurant or sushi bar in the neighboring jogai (outer) area, which has a number of restaurants and processed seafood shops.
The “Exciting Jonai Jogai Visit Course,” from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., visits the jonai and jogai markets after a viewing of an introductory video about the market. Breakfast at a restaurant or sushi bar in jogai is included. For late risers, the “Jonai Jogai Visit Course,” from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will include lunch at the market instead of breakfast.
Prices range from ¥20,500 to ¥33,000 per person, including a one-night stay, tour fee and market meal, and tours in English can be arranged for groups. For an additional ¥5,250, you can travel to the market in a rickshaw.
The plan runs through to Dec. 30, except for market holidays.

Turandot anniversary special
From Sept. 1 to Nov. 5, the Pan Pacific Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu celebrates the first anniversary of Chinese restaurant Turandot’s renovation with a course featuring the luxury Chinese ingredient shark fin and Dom Perignon Champagne.
For ¥100,000, four people can feast on an eight-dish course — featuring shark fins from Kesen-numa, an area of Japan renowned for its seafood — with a bottle of Dom Perignon.
The dishes include whole boiled shark fin, crab meat and shark fin soup, Peking duck, fried lobster and the popular autumn delicacy, matsutake mushrooms.
The course is available for lunch (11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) and dinner (5:30 p.m.-9 p.m.).

Kinki home cooking buffet
The Garden Cafe at the Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers will feature the Kinki region’s traditional home cooking at a lunch and dinner buffet throughout September.
Obanzai is Kyoto dialect for side dishes cooked at home to go with rice. During the Obanzai Fair, from Sept. 1 to 30, the hotel’s chefs will provide traditional obanzai menus from Kyoto and other parts of the Kinki region. Focusing on autumn ingredients, some 80 dishes will be available.
The lunch buffet is ¥2,800 for adults and ¥1,700 for children (of elementary school age) on weekdays, and ¥3,400 and ¥2,100 on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.
The dinner buffet is ¥3,500 for adults, ¥2,200 for children and ¥2,450 for those older than 60 on weekdays. It is ¥4,400, ¥2,640 and ¥3,080 on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.
Sept. 19 to 27, including Sept. 21 “Respect for the Aged Day,” is “Silver Week,” when those over 60 will be offered a discount price of ¥1,750 on weekdays, and ¥2,200 on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.
