“The Kahala Hawaiian Food Fair” at the Hotel Okura Tokyo brings the flavors of the exclusive Honolulu Kahala Hotel & Resort to Tokyo.
At the Terrace Restaurant, six dishes, including The Kahala Burger (¥2,573) and spicy guava-flavor spareribs (¥2,940), are available through April 12. Dining Cafe Camellia is offering six other dishes, including Hawaiian fruit salad (¥2,625), tiger shrimp and spicy garlic linguine (¥2,100), through April 30. For dessert, there’s The Kahala’s popular pancakes (¥1,050) and chocolate cake (¥1,260).
At the Orchid Bar and Bar Highlander, tropical cocktails such as Blue Hawaii and Lava Flow (¥1,575 each) and The Kahala’s original Royal Pine (¥3,150) and Kahala Mai Tai (¥1,575) are being shaken and stirred through April 30.
Visitors to the fair have the chance to win accommodation vouchers (for two) for The Kahala and other original goods.

Sardinian flavors at Nikko Tokyo
Through April 30, Adriano Mario Guernieri, owner-chef of Ristorante da Adriano on the Italian island of Sardinia, is directing the lunch buffet and dinner courses at the Hotel Nikko Tokyo’s Ocean Dining Mediterranean restaurant.
Having been the executive chef of the island’s five-star Hotel Cervo for many years, Guernieri brings a wealth of experience to the table and uses it to prepare a variety of dishes featuring the Sardinian delicacy bottarga (cured fish roe), lobster and other fresh seafood; and five different types of pasta, including fregula, which is often called “Sardinian couscous.”
The lunch buffet (11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) features more than 50 items, including cold and hot dishes, pasta and dessert, for ¥3,360 on weekdays and ¥4,200 on weekends and holidays (half price for children aged between 4 and 10).
For dinner, there are three courses priced at ¥5,775, ¥7,350 and ¥9,450. Between 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., an Italian market is re-created in the restaurant, displaying colorful spring vegetables that will be cooked in front of diners. There are also live canzone performances on Sundays during the fair, at around6:15 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.

Shiba Park Hotel marks its 60th
To celebrate its 60th anniversary on May 27, the Shiba Park Hotel in Shiba Koen, Tokyo, is holding a series of commemorative promotions through Nov. 30.
There’s an exhibition of the hotel’s history in the Gallery Lounge on the first floor of the annex, and through May 29, ¥1,000 lunch sets with popular hotel dishes from the past are available there between11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekdays.
At the Chinese restaurant Peking, which opened in the hotel in 1960, a sumptuous anniversary course featuring dishes from its founding year is available at ¥63,000 per person (reservations are required five days in advance and the course is available for groups of six or more people). There is also an anniversary course that lets you sample some of the Peking’s delights for ¥6,300 per person.
The Michelin-starred Restaurant Tateru Yoshino Shiba has prepared a special French course priced at ¥60,000 for two people, which comes with a half-bottle of vintage champagne.
