You cannot put yourself in Frodo's shoes as Hobbits walk barefoot. You can, however, walk in Frodo's virtual footsteps.
In "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" (ROTK), players visit Middle Earth as the main characters from the "The Lord of the Rings" movies. (The game is based on the movies, not the books.) Gandalf, Gimli, Legolas, Aragorn, Sam and Frodo are all in the game, although players do not get to control all of the characters in all of the scenes.
When the game begins, the Fellowship has long separated. Frodo, Sam and Gollum now have to cross Shelob's lair and Mordor on their way to Mount Doom. Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas travel the paths of the dead in search of new allies, while Gandalf finds himself in one epic battle after another as he tries to rally the forces of men.
